The GULFMET seeks to provide a path for the development of calibration andmeasurement capabilities of the GULFMET member states as a mechanism for these members to gain international recognition of calibration and measurement capabilities (CMCs). In this sense, GULFMET organizes interlaboratory comparison (ILCs) through its technical committees (GULFMET TCs) and reviewing quality management systems in national metorlogy institutes (NMIs) accordance with the requirements of ISO / IEC 17025.
The GSO took these activities into consideration when preparing its Strategic Plan (2016-2020) through the "Develop programs to enable Member States to meet CIPM MRA requirements in the field of metrology", one of its activities " Technical assistant to enhance the metrological potential of Member States ".
