Inter-laboratory comparisons (ILCs), Quality Management system review (QMS) and training are the main GULFMET’s services. ILCs and QMS constitute the technical basis of the CIPM Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA). ILCs are organized to provide objective evidence concerning the technical capabilities of NMI’s and support CMC claims.
GULFMET is currently running many ILCs in line with the guidance on comparisons given in CIPM MRA-D-05, particularly section 5.1, regarding linkage between CIPM and RMO key comparisons (KCs)and Supplementary Comparisons (SCs). All GULFMET KC and SC are registered in BIPM Key Comparisons Database (KCDB).
GULFMET is responsible for carrying out the activities required for the fulfillment of the Mutual Recognition Arrangement (CIPM-MRA) and provide guidance on QMS implementation as per ISO /IEC 17025 and ISO Guide 34 (for those institutes producing or assigning values to reference materials) requirements.
This focuses on strengthening the GULFMET technical capabilities and its’ TC’s by providing knowledge and skills necessary to facilitate TCs activities as well as those of NMI’s/ DI’s
